Supported Playgroups in Catholic Education (SPiCE) are run by paid and trained facilitators, who support children (aged birth to 5) and their families to learn, grow, and connect with one another. The families and children are engaged through a play-based approach within an inviting and caring school community.

Supported Playgroups in Catholic Education (SPiCE) are situated within Catholic School settings and aim to provide a sense of belonging for children and families, where families are seen and valued as their child’s first educators, and children are seen and valued as being linked to their family, community, culture, and place. Children are seen as thriving people and capable learners. Supported Playgroups in Catholic Education have a strong and intentional focus on educating families to engage with their children in holistic play-based learning experiences. These experiences are rich in Literacy, Numeracy and STEM based opportunities, promoting children to develop emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively. Our Supported Playgroups celebrate and value diversity and inclusivity and welcome all families and children to engage in and be part of enriching our communities.
